The owner of the Blansko manor, count of Gellhorns, established the first iron-mill in the Punkva river valley - origins of engineering manufacturing.

The Blansko Iron Works (Blanenské železárny) were purchased by the Salm-Reifferscheidt noble family. The family expanded metallurgical production, introduced new machines, working procedures, scientific knowledge. From the 20s of the 19th century, machinery production also developed rapidly.

The Salm family sold the iron works and machine works to the Prague company Akciová společnost strojírny, earlier Breitfeld-Daněk a spol. The new owners started building machine works with own foundries.

1927
The Blansko plant became a member of the concern Českomoravská-Kolben-Daněk, a.s., and focused on the manufacture of hydro, milling, food and woodworking machines.

1950
Establishment of the autonomous ČKD Blansko enterprise. Further expansion of metallurgical and mechanical engineering plants followed; improvement of the technical standard of the products. The enterprise specialises in the manufacturing of hydro machines, heavy-duty machining tools and mechanical engineering metallurgy.

Concern ČKD Blansko Holding a.s. and ČKD Blansko Strojírny a.s. became the Czech branch of the international group JSC Tyazhmash, engaged in production in the energy sector.
